Conversion Approach
Most other code conversion solutions package their offering as a black box service. This leaves clients unable to manipulate the code conversion process. BladeBridge, on the other hand, separates the conversion engine from the command definitions in the form of open configuration files. These files can be edited by the Systems Integrator or Client to provide greater flexibility to adapt during a code conversion project. The configurations are broken down into 3 loosely coupled files, which come together to facilitate a conversion:
Reader
The Reader is a BladeBridge Converter configuration file to read the metadata from a desired source. The configurations in the Reader are written to capture the bespoke attributes of the source metadata, so they can be read into the Bridge. The Bridge acts as a mechanism to loosely couple the Reader and Writer configurations so they can be mixed and matched. Additionally, BladeBridge configurations follow a deep inheritance model in their configuration definitions. The power of this methodology means that BladeBridge can rapidly create new Readers and Writers without having to detangle hard wired converters.
